A critical introduction to the social and cultural dimensions of urban life through the examination of the city as a site of power, identity, conflict, and transformation; engagement with contemporary theoretical frameworks and pressing urban issues including inequality, displacement, climate change, and digital transformation; development of analytical tools for critically assessing the social production of the built environment and its implications for urban design and landscape architecture practice.
