IR 629 Global Political Economy

This course is designed to explore questions relating to theory and process of increasingly globalizing international political economy. The purposes of the course are to expose students to major changes in the international political economy; to explore some of the theoretical debates over these changes; and, to examine the multitude of adjustment strategies states adopt to cope with changing structure of comparative advantage. Particular emphasis is placed upon the position of the middle-income developing countries (especially Turkey) within the global market structure. Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
