IR 101 Introduction to World Politics

This course introduces students to international relations by presenting the basic concepts, approaches and major contemporary currents in world politics. The purpose of the course is to provide students with a framework for analysis whereby they can understand and evaluate international phenomena. It covers a wide range of topics including security issues such as war, terrorism, diplomacy and arms control; ecological issues such as climate change and resource depletion, and economic issues such as development, world trade and globalization. Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
