HART 322 Orientalizing Period

The orientalizing period (between roughly the late 8th and early 6th century BC) witnesses the renewal of extensive contacts between Greece and the Aegean world with Near Eastern civilizations. This course examines the forms of interaction between the Greek world and the East and the cultural transformation that followed.
