COMD 519 Mobile and Locative Media

This course analyses mobile media and their location-based features. It situates mobile media and communication practices within the theoretical contexts of media and communications, arts and creativity, storytelling and gaming, power and politics of maps and mapping, identities, and meaning-making. It provides a critical analysis of key concepts, theories and developments in mobile communication and media, locative media, space, place, time, and geospatial data. Students will explore recent debates and practices of mobile and locative media.
