Vectors and matrices. Vector operations, geometric interpretation of vectors, dot and cross products, projections, and applications in three-dimensional geometry. Matrix multiplication and linear transformations. Linear equations, existence and classification of solutions, Gaussian elimination and LU decomposition. Inverse matrices and determinants. Vector spaces, span, basis, dimension, and rank. Orthogonality, the Gram - Schmidt process, QR decomposition, and least-squares approximation. Characteristic equation of a matrix: eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
