This class will explore American Foreign Relations during its rise to world power during the twentieth century. Themes will include: Post-World War I foreign relations and the question of "Isolationism"; the FDR era and World War II; the origins of the Cold war; the Korean War; the Eisenhower era; Kennedy and Cuba; Nixon and D ~~ Carter and Iran; Reagan and Gorbachev; the end of the Cold War... and beyond.
