This course aims to cover the theories, conceptual tools, and methods used for understanding the role of media and social media in politics. It aims to define the role of mediated communications by media firms, social media tools, political actors and individuals. It aims to cover the role of the media and especially social media in the development of public opinion. It focuses on the role of social media, how it has been used in defining international politics while focusing on its relationship between the post truth era and the rise of populism.
