IR 488 Security and Strategy

This course, is designed to equip students with the necessary conceptual tools, theories and technical knowledge for an adequate understanding of armed conflicts, international security and strategic implications of systemic transformations. The course will begin with the theoretical and conceptual examination of strategy and security. Departing from the theoretical foundations, the course will move on to military side of the analysis, thus focus on rather practical issues; such as weapon recognition, military technology, arms production, military doctrines and conduct of contemporary warfare.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
