IR 4145 International Politics of the Global South

This course provides a comprehensive study of the global South and its encounter with the international. The course, on the one hand, deals with how IR theories approach to the global South. On the other hand, it points to perspectives from the global South to critical concepts and global issues of international politics. The course is composed of two parts. The first part introduces key concepts of International Relations, such as order, war, sovereignty, security, and foreign policy. The second part questions the place and role of the global South in international relations pertaining to some of the global issues such as globalization, inequality, migration, resistances, and socio-environmentalism.
