The study of the relationship between space, the political and power through the examination of identity-based, territorial, political, socio-economic, and cultural dynamics with a focus on ‘critical geopolitics,' a school of thought that emerged in the 1980s that challenges hegemonic ways of seeing and representing such as in foreign policy discourse.
