ECON 482 Topics in Emerging Market Economies

This course presents contemporary issues on macroeconomics and international economics from the lens of an emerging market economy. Topics: economic policy credibility, capital flows, exchange rate regimes, assessing external vulnerabilities, spill overs to developing economies from emerging markets, capital controls, the trade-off between financial stability and price stability, monetary and fiscal framework in emerging economies, the role of exchange rate in the economy, policy making under dollarization and high-risk premium.

ECON 205 and ECON 222.
