ECON 428 Public Sector Governance

This course is about theoretical and practical aspects of quality and performance management in provision of services within the public sector. In this regard, the course will attempt to inform the students about the pros and cons of new public management culture. The dynamics which changed the "public administration culture" to "public sector management" will be explored. Strategic and performance management and what they mean to public sector, public sector management reforms including financial management, personal management, quality management, audit issues and citizen participation in decision making process will be elaborated. No prerequisites are necessary.
