PHIL 537 Paradox and Infinity

This course explores various paradoxes to investigate central issues in logic, metaphysics, epistemology, decision theory, and philosophy of mathematics. Among the paradoxes we will discuss are Zeno's paradoxes of motion; paradoxes of set theory; paradoxes of truth and reference; paradoxes of free will and time travel; and paradoxes of rational belief and action.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
