PHIL 103 Introduction to Philosophy I
|
The course raises and examines central problems in theoretical philosophy such as: Is there a world of things that exists independently of human thought and sensation? How can we know the difference between appearance and reality? How does our mind and the physical world relate? How can we know whether there are other minds? Do we freely choose our actions or are they pre-determined? Those problems are investigated through a close reading of influential texts in the history of philosophy.
