HART 434 Landscape Archaeology

This course offers an in-depth introduction to a major branch of today’s archaeology that involves the investigation of ancient landscapes and the dynamics of human-environment interaction across time. Topics include discussion regarding the Anthropocene, resilience theory, political ecology, human-driven environmental and climatic change, sensory archaeology, palaeoclimatology and geoarchaeology, remote sensing and GIS-led landscape analysis.
