HART 348 Coloring Greek and Roman Antiquity: Mosaics, Paintings and Sculptures

This course will focus on Greek and Roman mosaics, paintings and sculptures to show the importance given to colors and the mastery of artists who worked with them. It will also examine why modern scholarship on classical statuary white-washed its polychromy and the recent rediscovery of colors thanks to new technologies.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
