Basics of quantum computation and fundamental principles of quantum mechanics. Introduction to gate-based and adiabatic models of computation. Ising and quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) models. Algorithms for quantum optimization - quantum annealing, quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA), Grover search, amplitude amplification. Essentials for benchmarking on quantum hardware with practical implementations using simulators available in IBM Qiskit, D-Wave Ocean SDK and OpenJij. Current quantum hardware and limitations, introduction to quantum error correction and logical qubits.
