The subject and principles of natural/science sciences, the basic concepts of science, the place of science among other disciplines, its historical development, the aims of science teaching, general information about the science subjects in the primary school curriculum, their characteristics, their applications in daily life and their areas of use. The purpose and importance of the laboratory in science teaching; safety in the laboratory; scientific method, scientific process skills and how they are acquired; laboratory experiments for primary school (planning, conducting experiments and evaluating the results of experiments), preparing experiment worksheets and experiment reports; Examples of experiments with simple and cheap materials; group work.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
