MSN 528 Polymer Physics in Nanotechnology
|
The course aims to establish the relationship between molecular- and macroscopic-level phenomena in polymeric systems relevant to both biological to synthetic systems. The course will cover the topics dedicated to mathematical and physical description of polymeric systems, such as the fractal nature of polymers, polymer topology, phase transition, viscoelastic properties, polymer dynamics and non-equilibrium responses against external stimuli such as force and electrical field, or their flow response, shear and bulk modulus, fundamental length/time/energy scales, and all major experimental methods employed to probe the polymeric systems both in vivo and in vitro.
