Selected topics in quantum information theory. Quantum operations, distance measures for quantum states and channels. Quantum error-correction: Shor code, Calderbarnk-Shor-Steane codes and stabilizer codes. Quantum entropy and its properties. Information-theoretic protocols: quantum data compression and noisy quantum channels. Quantum cryptography: quantum key distribution, BB84 protocol and its security proof.
