Hydrogen-like ion, fine and hyperfine structures, multielectron atom, LS and jj couplings. Atoms in static magnetic and electric fields. Radiative transitions, selection rules, Einstein coefficients, rate equations, resonance fluorescence, Hanle effect, optical pumping. Molecules: rotational and vibrational motion, Franck-Condon principle, infrared and Raman spectra. Recent topics in atomic, molecular and optical physics.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
