Courses
This is a five year program, which leads to a diploma in Computer and Instructional Technology Teacher Education.
The first 4 semesters contain courses designed to provide students with a strong background in computer science
and computer technology. The curriculum includes courses in software, hardware, database management, system
design, security, and data communication. The courses are a combination of theory and laboratory practice in up to
date lab facilities. The curriculum is designed to equip students with strong problem solving abilities, critical thinking
abilities and skills for life long learning. Also included in the curriculum are interdisciplinary courses in science, social
science and humanities.
Starting from the 5th semester, in addition to the courses explained above, students are introduced to teacher education
courses given by the instructors from the Graduate School of Education. The teacher education courses emphasize
teaching methodology, student participation in problem solving, case studies and developmental work. Total three
teacher education courses require students to spend one or more days a week in partner schools, gaining practical
experience of up-to-date approaches to teaching. Partner schools are the leading schools in Ankara such as BUPS,
Bilkent Schools, METU College and TED Ankara College.
