BIM 201 Problem Solving and Algorithms

The aim of the course is to improve the students' analytical thinking and problem solving ability using a programming approach. The course will cover the basic problem solving concepts that the students need to know and understand when working in any language or application. The students will learn to firstly analyze and fully understand a problem, then to design a solution and lastly to create a structured program solution using C. The course begins by establishing the connection between good problem solving skills and effective software development. Three basic control structures, sequential, selection and repetition, built-in functions, user defined procedures and array data structures are the main topics covered in the course.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 6.
