Introduction to computer networks. Computer network fundamentals and terminology. The Open System Interconnection (OSI) model. Networking media. Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. LAN and WAN cabling. Cable testing. Ethernet fundamentals. Ethernet technologies. Ethernet switching. Basics of TCP/IP and IP addressing. Routing fundamentals. (Four hours lecture in lab.)
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 6, Prerequisite:
CTIS 154 and CTIS 155.
