ETE 201 Introduction to Linguistics I

The course provides a foundation in linguistics. It emphasises basic terminology and concepts. The main topics include phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Students will be asked to consider the relevance of these areas as applied to second language acquisition and foreign language teaching, especially to the teaching of English in Turkey.
