ECON 407 Economics of Crises

The course aims to acquaint the students with the economics of crises. It will review the recent developments in economic theory and the evidence from the crises in Asia, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey, emphasizing their differences from previous crises. It will discuss the importance of capital flows and the approaches to reforming the international financial system and will cover various methods of coping with, and the measures to forestall future crises.
