ECON 403 Issues in Public Finance

Introduces fundamentals of deficit financing. The role of the bureaucracy and its relations with the government is discussed with an emphasis on the role of the Treasury and its functioning. New orientalism in government financial management, government balance sheet approach, expenditure management and control issues are other topics that are covered in this course.
