MAN 216 Elements of Finance

This course is a basic introduction to the principles of finance. It will introduce the students to role of financial managers and agency problems they face in corporations. How financial markets and institutions channel savings to investments are discussed. The course provides a framework for answering the basic question of what is the worth of a firm. It will cover topics such as time value of money, financial instruments, risk and return, capital budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, and elements of international finance.
Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 5.
