EEE 501 Linear System Theory

Mathematical preliminaries: linear spaces, linear transformations, matrix algebra, normed linear spaces, inner product spaces, differential equations, distributions, Fourier transform. Dynamical system concepts: state, response, equivalence, linearity, time-invariance. Linear differential systems: solution, impulse response, stability, controllability and observability, time-invariant systems, periodically varying systems. Discrete-time systems. Some applications: linear quadratic optimization, estimation, filtering identification. Credit units: 3 ECTS Credit units: 7.5.
